The terms, kept short.
The Orange Button is free to use. By making a button, claiming a short link or paying through one, you agree to what is written here. There is not much of it, because the service is a button, and your wallet and your buyer's wallet do the rest.

What the service is
The Orange Button gives you a pay button, a link and a QR code. When a buyer opens it, the page asks your Lightning wallet for an invoice and shows it to them. They pay it from their own wallet and the sats land in yours.
We never hold, route, convert or refund money, and we could not if we wanted to. The only thing our server does with a payment is ask the receiving wallet whether it has settled, so the page can say Paid and, on a claimed link, send the emails and deliver the product.
What the service is not
It is not a bank, an exchange, a payment processor or an escrow. There are no accounts that hold funds and no balances. Because nothing passes through us, there are no refunds, disputes or chargebacks through us. A refund is between the buyer and the seller, wallet to wallet.
If you sell with it
You are responsible for what you sell, for delivering it, for the taxes that apply to you and for the law where you are. Do not use the button for anything illegal, for anything you do not have the right to sell, or to mislead the people paying you. A file you upload for delivery must be yours to distribute.
We may remove a link, a file or a claimed name that breaks the law, is used for fraud or abuse, or infringes someone else's rights, and we may refuse a name that impersonates a person, a company or us.
If you buy with it
Check the product, the price and who you are paying before you pay. A Lightning payment is final once it settles, and what you receive is the seller's responsibility, not ours. If a seller asks for your name and email, they go to that seller. The privacy page says exactly where.
The edit link
When you claim a short link we email you an edit link. It is the only key to your button. Anyone who has it can change the address, the price and everything else, so keep it private. There is no automated way to recover it, and no password to reset. If you lose it, write to us from the email address you claimed with and we will try to help by hand, but treat the link as the only key you have.
Availability
The service is free and we run it with care, but we cannot promise it will be available at every moment or that every feature will stay exactly as it is. A button made from the URL alone keeps working for as long as the site does, and the address, product and price in it are yours to use anywhere else. We may change or withdraw features, and if we ever stop running the service we will say so on the site first.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using it, including a payment sent to an address that was typed wrong, a wallet that fails to receive or to confirm a payment, or a seller who does not deliver what they promised. Where the law gives you rights that cannot be limited, nothing here limits them.
Changes to these terms
We may update them from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new date at the top and apply from the day they are posted.
